099 <br /> <br />April 8. 1997 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, April 8, 1997~ there were <br />present: <br /> <br /> Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Ciemons, *Bernard D. <br />Griffin, Sr., James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P? Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas <br />Benn Ill, Ronald W. Massie, City Manager, G~ Timothy Oksman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />97-104 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br />April 8, 1997, for the purpose of a public work session. <br /> <br />in addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session: <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />97-105 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Hampton Roads Partnership <br /> <br />2. Communications Towers <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion of appointments by Council to committees, boards, or <br />commissions, as permitted by Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br /> (2) The disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection <br />(A)(3). <br /> <br /> (3) Specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by counsel, <br />as permitted by Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive SessiOn of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information ACt, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br />which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br /> Dr. James W.
