<br /> At a regular meeting of the City Council, held on June 23rd, 1953, there were present:
<br /> Fred A. Duke, Frank N. Bilisoly, Jr., George L. Grimes, R. E. Hawks, C.C. Houghton,Jr.,
<br /> James N. Howard, Edgar W. Lawrence, R. Irvine Smith, E. R. Sturtevant, C. E. Warren,
<br /> I. G. Vass, City Manager, and R.C. Barclay, City Attorney.
<br /> Minutes of meeting held on June 9th, 1953 were read and approved.
<br />
<br /> The following reports from the City NL~nager were read:
<br /> 1st - "I submit the attached letter £rom A.J. Mapp, ~uperinrendent of Public Schools,and
<br />the options on four lots needed for t~erection of a new bulldxng on the lots for the purpose of additional class-I
<br />rooms for the Westhaven School and recommend that the Council concur in Mr. ~app's recommendation and that an appro
<br />priation in the-s~m of $2,000. be placed on its first reading for the purpose of paying for said lots from the
<br />Utility Tax Fund.
<br /> Motion of ~r. Houghton to place an appropriation of $2,000.00 from Utility Tax Fund for
<br />said purpose, on first reading, was adopted.
<br /> 2nd - "I snbmit the attached list of bonds reported by the Sinking Fund Commission and
<br />recommend that the bonds listed for cancellation be cancelled by the Sinking Fund Co~mlission."
