Wright <br /> <br />the Council go into <br /> <br />the election of School Board members, was <br /> <br />Mr. Smith nominated M.H. Rapoport from First District <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Sturtevant that nominations be closed, was adopted. <br />Vote being taken, Mr. Rapoport w~s unanimously elected. <br /> <br />Mr. Howardnominated Mrs. C.L. Crowder from Second District. <br />Motion .of I~r. Warren that nominations be closed was adopted. <br /> <br />Vote beiug taken, Mrs. Crowder was unanimously elected. <br /> <br />Mr. Warren nominated Mrs. C.C. ~'right from Third District. <br />Motion of Mr. Stmrtevant that nominations be closed was adopted. <br />Vote being taken, Mrs. Wright wasunanimously elected° <br /> <br />sented. <br /> <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Bill of G. T. Cross in the amoun~ of $24.00, for rabbit~ killed by stray dogs, was pre- <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Warren that the City Treasurer be authorized ~o pay said bill from funds in <br />her hands from collection of Dog Taxes, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. }Ioughton that the Highway Department be requested To postpone the spending <br />of money for new tell gaies at Nansemond River.and Chuckatuck bridges until such time as the question of toll on <br />these .bridges has been decided, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Houghton that a resolution be drawn and sent to the Highway Department endors- <br />ing the plans.and construction of th~ Hampton Roads bridge tunnel, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Howard to refer to the City Manager the question of findi~ the owner and <br />having the building on Western Branch Road westof Chautauqua Ave. demolished, was adopted. <br /> <br />~pproved - <br /> <br />On motion a~ourned. <br /> <br />President. <br /> <br /> <br />
