<br />At a regular meeting of the City Council, held on July 28th, 1953, there were present:

<br />Minutes of regular meeting held on July 14th, 1953, were read and approved.

<br /> The following notice of zoning changes was read:

<br />T~lursday, July 2, 1953. The following applications were considered and the subsequent reeommendation~ respecT-
<br />fully submitted for yo~r approval:
<br /> 1. L. C. Shelton To rezone 10t 763 and 30 feet of lOt 764 beginning 0 feet
<br /> south from Wesley St., fronting 70 feet on the east side of Mt. Vernon
<br /> Ave., by 140 feet deep, from Two Family, Class "C" to Commercial, Class

<br /> Federal-State Relations Conference in Richmond, on July 23rd.
<br /> 3. Communication from School Superintendent regarding purchase of lots
<br /> adjacent To the Mt. Merman School for a ~emporary school building.
<br />
<br /> I report as follows:
<br />1. Several conferences Have been held with members of the Fire Fighters
<br /> Local #539, and an agreement Has been r~ched whereby the bearings
<br /> will begin at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 29th, 1953.
<br />2. The Manager, Mayor and Councilmen Smith a~d Houghton and the City
<br /> Attorney attended the Federal =Sta~e Relations Conference in Richmond
<br /> on July 23rd, 1953.
<br />3. I am sdbmitting a separkTe report on the question of purchasing lots
<br /> adjacent to the Mt. Herman School."
