Houghton,Jr., <br />James N. Howard, E. W. Lawrence, R. Irvine Smith, E. R. Sturtevant, C.E. Warren, <br />Pearle J..Wilson, I.G. Vass, City Manager, and R. C. Barclay, City Attorney. <br /> <br />Minutes of regular meeting of December 8th, 1953 were read and approved. <br /> <br />The following notices of zoning changes were read: <br /> <br /> "P~rsuant to the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, notice is hereby given that a public <br />hearing will be hetd at 7:30 P.M., on Tuesday, December 22, 1953, in the Council Chamber, Municipal Building, <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, for the purpose of altering zones and re-classifying the following property: <br /> 1. Mary E. Flick to rezone a triangular plot of land beginning at the northwest <br /> corner of Pearl. Street and George Washington Highway, freeing 150 feet on the <br /> north side of George Washington Highway, then northwest 105 feet to an alley, <br /> then 137.72 feet east to the point of beginning lots numbered 354-355 and <br /> 336, from Two Family, Class "C" to Commercial Class ~". <br /> 2. T.B. Lee, Inc., to rezone 401 Pearl Street, lots 36-37-38 and 39 beginning <br /> the southwest corner of Pearl Street and Queen Street, fronting 145 feet on the <br /> south side of Queen Street, extending eastwardly 95 feet more or less to S.A.L. <br /> Ri{., from Commercial Class '~" to Commercial Class "H" <br /> 3. P~rker, and.T,A. Talbot. <br /> <br /> The following p~gple spoke against leasing the property: Francis W. Carlisle, George Gar- <br />rett, Dr. Hugo Owens, James Overton. <br /> <br /> <br />
