J J3 May 6. 1997 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, May 6, t997, there were present: Mayor James Wi Holley III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, .J. Thomas Berm II1, Ronald W. Massie, City Manager, G. Timothy Oksman, City Attorney. 97-134 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 1997, for the purpose of an executive session. By order of the Mayor.'" Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Benn, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Personnel matters, as permitted by Subsection (A)(I). (2) Disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). (3) Specific legal matters requiring the ProVision of legal advice by counsel, as permitted by Subsection (A)(7). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2 1- 344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion meeting adjourned. APPROVED - Dr. James W. Holley III Mayor owell Pittman, CMC/AAE City Clerk Councilman P. Ward RobJnett, Jr. was absent.
