<br />"RESOLVED, that the City of Portsmouth borrow from the American
<br />National Bank, Portsmouth, Virginia, the sum of Four Hundred
<br />Thousand Dollars ($400,000.00), in anticipation of the collection
<br />of the revenues of the City for the calendar year of 1955; that
<br />the proper office~s be authorizeid to make a no~e or notes maturing
<br />at any time prior to December 30, 1955 and the revenues 5f the
<br />City for the current year are ple~i~ed to the repayment of such
<br />borrowing."

<br />"RESOLVED, that the City of Portsmouth borrow from the National
<br />Bank of S~LTfolk, Suffolk, Virginia, lh6 sum of Two Hundred Thousand
<br />Dollars ($200,000.00), in anticipation ~f the collection of the
<br />revenues of the City for the calendar year of 1955; that the proper
<br />o~fic ers be authorized tomake a no~e or notes maturing at ~ny time
