~1 ~1.8 JS~e 10. 1997 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has also recommended amendment of <br />the Comprehensive Plan by amending (1) the General Land Use Map as shown on <br />Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof; and (2) the Park and Open <br />Space Map as shown on Exhibit B, attached hereto and made a part hereof; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth has held public hearings, <br />with notice as required by law, and has considered the proposed amendment to the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, that the Comprehensive Plan for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />designated CP-89-1 be, and hereby is, amended as recommended by the Planning <br />Commission and set out aSove andin the attached Exhibits A and B.' <br /> <br />97-157 (b): <br /> <br /> "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-97-05," <br /> <br />Ayes: Berm, Clemons, Griffin; Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- CITY MANAGER'S REPORT - <br /> <br />97-169 - <br /> <br />Adoption of a motion to transfer $65,000 from the General Fund <br />Contingency (Emergency) for the cost of prisoner medical services and <br />laundry services in the City Jail. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />· Adoption of a motion to transfer $65 000 from the General Fund - Emergency <br /> COntingency for medical and laundry services in the City Jail. <br /> <br />~Need: <br /> <br />· Due to an uncontrollable inmate population increase, the amount of money <br /> appropriated for jail prows~ons will be expended prior to the end of this fiscal year. <br /> <br />· The two areas affected are medical and laundry services. <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />· Medical Services- $55,000 <br />· Laundry Services- $10,000 <br /> <br />Total Increased Costs $65,000 <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to transfer $65,000 for <br />medical and laundry services in the City Jail, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Clemons, Griffin. Pitts, Robinett, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />97-170 - <br /> <br />Adoption of a motion to transfer $106,340 from the Grants Contingency <br />Account for the 1997 Summer Breakfast and Lunch Program as <br />awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />· Adoption of a motion to transfer $106,340 from the Grants Contingency Account <br /> to fund the USDA Summer Food Program, upon award. <br /> <br /> <br />
