Jar~ary 24th, 1956. <br /> <br /> "Please be advised that Matilda E. Burley was assessed for tangible personal pro - <br />perry valued at $1,760'.00 with tmxes amoauting to $48.40 plus a penalty of $~.42, making a total of $50.82. The <br />assessment in question pertains to au automobile. Our investigation shows that car was not owned by her on Janu- <br />ary 1, 1955. <br /> The taxpayer has paid the above Tax as shown by her receipted tax bill #24001 and <br />as this is definitely au erroneous assessment, we sincerely request that a refund in the amount of $50.82 be made <br />to the taxpayer." ~ <br /> <br /> "Please be ad-vised that Marie Pierce Brown was assessed for tangible personal <br />property valued at $1,890.00, with taxes amounting to $51.98. The assessment in question pertains to an automobile <br />Our investigation shows that car was not owned by her on January 1, 19,55~ <br /> The taxpayer has paid the above tax as shown by her receipted tax bill ~23379 an( <br />as this is definitely an erroneous assessment, we sincerely request that a re-fund in the amoun~ of $51.98 be made <br />to the taxpayer." ~ <br /> <br /> "Please be advised that James W. Fitts was assessed for tangible personal propert~ <br />located at 2540 Graham St., valued at $100.00, with taxes amounting to $2,50 for the year 1RS~. Ou~ investigation <br />reveals that this assessment was in error, however, Mr. Fitts was forced to pay tliis assessment before being al - <br />lowed to pay other ~axes owed by him. <br /> The taxes plus penalties, interest, etc. ~yaid by him, as evidenced by his re - <br />ceipted tax bill No. 11927, amounted to $3.38. Inasmuch as this is~klefinitely an erroneous assessment, we sin - <br />cerely request that yon refund the amount of $3.38 To Mr. Fitts." <br /> <br />Motion of ~r.
