<br /> Motion of Mr. Howard that the City accept the contract with Malpass Cons'truction
<br />Company and that the City Manager be authorized to sign the contract, was adopted.

<br /> 56-158 - "I recommend that the sum of $50,000.00 De placed on first reading in anticipation
<br />ef the Bond Fund to be derived from the sale of bonds for the construction of storm sewers within the City limits
<br />of the City o£ Portsmouth in accordance with contracts recently awarded."

<br /> Motio~ of Mr. Bilisoly to place an appropriation of $50,000.00 for said purpose, on

<br />Mr. Archer spoke requesting use of the stadium for the American Legion Baseball team.

<br />Motion of Mr. Smith to place the following ordinance on first reading was adopted:

<br /> 56-161 - "I submit Commonwealth of Virginia the Hampton Roads Area Survival Plan Project Pro-
<br />posal and recommend that the City Muanager be authorized and directed to execute the proposal on behalf of the
<br />City of Portsmouth."
