A. Zone A of the Second Fire District shall be with the following boundaries: beginning <br />ar the intersection of the prolongation of the center line of King Street easzward from Hamilton Avenue, the <br />cenzer li~e of the right of way of the Norfolk and porzsmouth Belt Line Railroad Company and from thence running <br />west along the cenzer line prolongation of King Street to its intersection with the cenzer line of Hamilton Ave- <br />hue, thence south along the center line of Hamilton Avenue To its intersection with the cenzer line of Scozz <br />Street, thence wesz along the cenzer line of Scozt S~reet re its intersection with the cenzer line of Halifax <br />Avenue, thence south along the center line of Halifax Avenue to its intersection with the cenzer line of Henry <br />Street, thence north along the center line of the prolongation of Henry Street zo its intersection with the cen- <br />ter line of Airline Boulevard, thence alone the center tine of Airline Boulevard to its intersection with the <br />center line of Nottaway Avenue, zhence north along the cenzer line of Nottaway Avenue to its intersection with <br />the center line of Scott Street, zhence easz gong the center line of Scott Streez to its intersection with the <br />cen~er line of Rodman Avenue thence north alerts the center line of Rodman Avenue to its intersection with the <br />right of way line of the Atlantic Coast-Line Railway Company, thence northeasterly along the cenzer line of said <br />right of way to its intersection with the center line of Glasgow Street zo s point distanz 200 feet north of <br />Perry S~reer determined by a line drawn perpendicular to the sontheaszern line of Perry Street, thence southeast- <br />erly along the line drawn pararallel to the northeaszern line of perry Szree~ and distant 200 feet therefrom to <br />its intersection with the center line of Queen Street, thence wesz along the center line of Queen Streez and its <br />prolongation ~o its intersection with the center line of the right of way of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Railroad <br />Company and thence south along the cenzer line of said right., of way zo its interseczion with the prolongation to <br />the cenzer line of King Street ar the point of beginning. <br /> On motion of Mr. Howard, said ordinance, as smiended, was adopted, and by the following <br /> <br />and read: <br /> <br />Ayes: Dllke, Baker, Grimes, Howard, Lawrence, Smith, S~urtevanz, Wilson <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />56-207 - The following ordinance, placed on first reading at last meeting,was taken up <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND RE-ORDAIN SECTION 32-36 OF THE CODE OF TtIE CITY <br /> OF PORTSMOUTH, 1951, RELATING TO USE REGULATIONS IN G C0~ERCIAL DISTRICt' <br />On mozion of Mr. Baker, said ordinance was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Duke, Baker, Grimes, Howard, Lawrence, Smith, Sturtevaut, Wilson <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 56-219 - The following letter from J. D. Ausley was read: <br /> <br /> "I understand that the City of Portsmouth is the owner o~ Lot Number Two Hundred Seventy <br />Seven (277) i~ the City o£ Portsmouth, Virginia, on the south side o£ Carolina Avenue in Pimlers Point. I am de - <br />sirous to purchase the said lot and am willing to pay as much as $225.00. If this meets your approval, I would <br />thank you to have it ~ut up for sale, and I will be at the sale and run ii to that extent, and if it is required <br />by you, I will pu~ up a deposit guaranteeing my sincerity." <br /> Motion of ~r. Smith to refer to ~he City ~Ianager and Planning Engineer, was adopted. <br /> <br /> 56-220 - Motion of ~r. Smith to suspend the rules to hear from W.B. Spong, representing <br />the Airline Protective Association, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Spong spoke for the removal o£ the building az ll09 Airline Blvd. Mr. Fanney and <br />Charles R. ~e~nolds also spoke for the removal of this building. <br /> Motion of ~r. Howard to refer zo the City Manager and City Attorney to take the neces- <br />sary steps to have the building at 1169 Airline Blvd. removed, was adopted. <br /> 56-221 - Motien of ~r. Wilson ~o refer ~o the City ~anager to have s~udied along with <br /> the present traffic survey, the question of installing a traf£ie light az Sixth A~ and~Glasgow St. <br /> <br /> On motion adjourned. <br /> <br /> 21erk. <br /> <br />Approved - <br /> <br /> ~resident · <br /> <br /> <br />
