A committee composed of represent~tivesO~ the Two groups has been ap - <br />pointed to handle this matter if they are directed so to do. <br /> The Chamber of Commerce will underwrite the large folder. I reco~end that the City <br />appropriate the sum of $750.00 to finance the publication of 50,000 program folders uo be distributed throughout <br />Virginia and the surrounding areas." <br /> Motion of Mr. Hinton to suspend the rules to hear from Mr. Eure from the Portsmouth <br />Ch2amber of Commerce, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Eure presented s sample of the type of folder that the Chamber of Commerce is <br /> requesting to be published in addition to the 50,000 program folders. <br /> Motion of Mr. Hinton to place on first reading an appropriation of $2,750.00 for <br /> advertising PortSmouth during the Jamestown Festival, was adopted. <br /> Mr~ Baker voting 'No'. <br /> 57~91 -"I am reporting ~hat I held a coI~ference with E.B. There were no fnnds in the budget for the current ye~r~o, operate this facility.-- We propose to move <br />~he general o~fices of the Negro section of the R2creational Department to this building and ~e find it necessary <br />~o employ two Supervisors. <br /> I sm recommending that the ~am of $2,500.00~ be placed on ~£~rst rea~ng for the <br />purpose of employing the Supervisors for the remainder of ~he year and to provide playground equipment and office <br />£urniture for the Recreation Center." <br /> <br /> Motion of ~r.
