<br /> 57-14~ - "It is in order to consider the request of W. Wray Morse, General Chairman
<br />of the Portsmouth General Hospital Building Fund Campaign to constrnct a Banner across High St. near Court St.
<br /> Our City Code prohibits the~cons~trmction o£ banners a~ross any street
<br />within the City. It is considered hazardous due to the heavy automobile tr~c on the streets at all hours of
<br />the day and night and for this reason, I can uo~ recommend that the Code be amended to permit banners across
<br />of the streets in the City."

<br /> Motion of Mr~ Kirby to lay on the table for further investigation by the City Manager,
<br />was adopted.

<br /> 57-1i3 - "I recommend t~at conference dates he se~ for the following purposes to meet
<br />with~ir. Chandler Harper at r~a regu~st, to consider further the MinimumEousing Code with particular reference ~o
<br />changes that have been proposed, at the suggestion of the Council tO tke Committee drafting the Code; also to
<br />consider further the Wilbur Smith Traffic Repor~ with representati~%es of the Transportation Committee at the re -
<br />q~est of the Transportation Compasy representatives; and a conference date to consider the proposed budge~ for the
<br />fiscal year beginning July l'st, 1957."
