:184 Auqust 12, 1997 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, August 12, 1997, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley, III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin Sr., Cameron C. Pitts P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm I11, Deputy City Manager H. Timothy Little, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman 97-218 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall 801 Crawford Street. at 5:00 p.m.. Tuesday, August 12, 1997. for the purpose of a public work session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 97-219 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: 1. Marketing Update 2. Communication Towers Motion by Mr. Benn and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). (2) Protection of the privacy of individuals in personal matters not related to public business, as permitted by Subsection (A)(6). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Pitts. pursuant to Section 2.1- 344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unan mous vote. On motion meeting adjourned. APPROVED Dr. James W. Holley III Mayor Debra Y. Wh~e. CMC City Clerk Councilman James T. Martin was absent.
