:184 <br /> <br />Auqust 12, 1997 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, August 12, 1997, there <br />were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor James W. Holley, III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. <br />Griffin Sr., Cameron C. Pitts P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm I11, Deputy <br />City Manager H. Timothy Little, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman <br /> <br />97-218 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall 801 Crawford Street. at 5:00 <br />p.m.. Tuesday, August 12, 1997. for the purpose of a public work session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />97-219 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Marketing Update <br /> <br />2. Communication Towers <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Benn and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real <br />property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted <br />by Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br />(2) Protection of the privacy of individuals in personal matters not related to <br /> public business, as permitted by Subsection (A)(6). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Pitts. pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br />which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unan mous vote. <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br /> Dr. James W. Holley III Mayor <br /> <br />Debra Y. Wh~e. CMC <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br />Councilman James T. Martin was absent. <br /> <br /> <br />
