Scott. <br />Nays: Baker, Kirby, Smith, Weiseman <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Kirby, the resolution, as amended, was adopted. <br />Mr. Hinton and Mr. Scott voting 'No'. <br /> <br />was adopted: <br /> <br /> 57-203 - Motion of Mr. Smith that the following ordinance be placed on firstlreading, <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE SALE OF BALLOONS, WBISTLES~ FLAGS AND <br /> SOUVENIRS ON CERTAIN STP~ETS OF 't'il~ CITY" <br /> <br /> 57-204 - Motion of Mr. Smith ~o suspend the rules to hear from interested persons with <br />~reference to,the petition ef the Portsmouth Movers Association, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr..Harper spoke requesting a conference with the Council.concerning the petition of the <br />Portsmouth Movers'Association. <br /> <br />5~NF IN ISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />and read: <br /> <br />57~174 - The following ordinsnce, placed on first reading at last meeting, was taken up <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A FOUR (4) FOOT ALLEY ON THE PLAT OF THE PROPERTY <br />OF G.M, SERPELL AT PORT NORFOL~' <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Smit~ said ordinance was adopted and by the following vo~e: <br /> <br />Ayes: Bartlett, Baker, Hinton, Kirby~ Scott, Smith,Weiseman <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />57-205 - The following letter from the School Board was read: <br /> <br /> "I am hereby notifying you of the expiration of the terms of office of tee following mem- <br />bers of the School Board, their terms expiring July 1, 1957: <br /> First District - Mr. J.
