May 14th, 1957. the name of W. C. Crocker, for 1 lot on Hull St. (between lots 133 and 134). This lot was doubly assessed and taxes had also been paid by Ethel Lee, for same years described as lots 196-197, the property having been re - platted.. I am informed by the Con~aissioner of Revenue that the lots .paid by Lee and Crocker are the same pro - perry. ~lr. Reulac is entitled to a refund of $43.62, .Please authorize this refund." Motion of Mr. Kirby that the refund be granted, was adopted. 57-183 - Motion of Mr. Kirby To refer to the City Attorney to draw a proper ordinance declaring it s misdemeanor for persons not properly boarding up vacant property. 57-184 - Motion of Mr. Kirby that a resolution of congratulations be drawn and forward- ed to Josephus Schaefer in recognition of his award relative to traffic safety, was adopted. 57-185 - Motion of Mr. Smith that the Mayo~, City Manager and City Attorney investigate the matter of having the de~i~s removed at the end of the West Nof~folk bridge On motion adjonrned. The following call for the meeting was read: 57-185.1-~'You~are requested to attend a called meeting of the City Council in the Cou~ucil Chamber at 3:00 P.M.~ on Tuesday, May 28th, 1957, To. consider the Wilbur Smith Traffic Report." This meeting being called for a public hearing, the following people spoke: Joseohus Schaefer and J. Lewis Thomas spok9 in ~avor of the adoption of the traffic plan. The following people spoke in opposition to the restricted parking on High Street betweeh certain hours: Milton Don~, Clyde W. Cooper, representing High St. merchants, Alfred A. Greenhood, Harr~ Koecen, Harry Hall, Warren Channel, Lester Schlitz, Les Barnes,L.C. DeLoatch. Walter M. Tiffany, representing Caffee'sBakery, opposed the No-Parking on County St., and requested the use of loa~ing zones. C.W. West spoke in reference ~o a loading zone at his place of business on County St. Dr. C.Q. Barclay spo~e opposing London Street being one-way. St. parking restrictions.
