' <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Kirby that conference be held, ~as adbpte~. · <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS - <br /> <br /> 57-373 - Au appropriation of $5,000.00 for the purchase of polio vaccine, placed on first <br />reading at last meeting, was taken up. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Weiseman To appropriate $5,000.00 for said purpose was adopted and by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: <br /> Nays: <br /> <br />57-379 - <br /> <br />Bartlett/ Baker, Hinton, Kirby, Scott. Smith, Weiseman <br />None <br /> <br />The following ordinance, placed on first reading au last meeting, was taken up <br /> <br />and read: <br /> <br />"AN 0RDIN~WCE TO AMEND ~ RE-ORDAIN ARTICLE VII OF CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, 1951~ RELATING TO ONE-WAY STREETS" <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Baker, said'ordinance was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Bartlett, Baker, Hinton, Kirby, Scott, Smith,Weiseman <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 57-395 - Morion of Mr. Scott that the traffic SiEns painted on the streets be painted <br />horizontally rather than vertically, was adopted. <br /> <br /> 57-396 - The following letter from the ~ortsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority was <br />read: <br /> "This is to advise you that we have received approval of our Application for Survey and <br />Planning F~uds for the Lincolnsville Urban Renewal Area from the Urban Renewal Administration and they have <br />transmitted to us a contract for execution. Since it is our desire to keep Council fully informed, we wish to <br />advise you further that the~contract contains a paragraph setting forth that the monies expended by this Authority <br />for Preliminary and Finzl P~ans of previous Redeveldpmenz Projects that were hot carried to completion will be in <br />cluded in the Gross Project Cost of the Lincolnsville ProjecT. According ~o our records, the total amount, inclu~ <br />ing interest, would be approximately ~63,000. This, in effect, means that the City's one-third share of the Lin- <br />colnsville Net PrOject Cost would be increased by one-third of this amount, or $21,000. <br /> In' order that we may proceed with this project in good faith, we would appreciate an ex- <br />pression from Council regarding the acceptability of this paragraph in the con~rac~. If you should need any fur- <br />thor information or desire a meeting to discuss the matter, please feel free to contact me or any of'the Authorit <br />staff." <br /> Motion of Mr. Kirby that conferenee be held with the Housing Authority, was adopted. <br /> <br /> 57-397 - Motion of Nr. Kirby that the City Manager be directed to set up a Council con- <br />ference with the City Attorney, assistant to the City Attorney, Director of Public Health and Building Inspector, <br />relative To enforcing the Minimum Housing Code. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
