Marsh, Attorney for the Community ~otor Bus Company, concerning the amounts due the City by that <br />firm under Section 16-54 of the City Code. <br /> Due to/~r. Marsh's participation in the recently concluded session of the General <br />Assembly, our conference was delayed until March 27, 1958. At that time, I respectfully urged that the Bus <br />Company file a statement o£ its gross receipts, even if payment of the tax could not be made, prior to tonight's <br />meeting oi Council. I also requested that we be advised of the subjects to be discussed at the propgsed <br />conference between the Bus Company and Council. Neither of these items has been received. <br /> Therefore, I feel compelled to recommend that Council instruct me To bring legal <br />action to force an accounting with the Community Motor Bus Company." We had a conference with Mrs. Kirkpatrick concerning the policies of the library <br />and were informed that Negroe~ were no~ permitted to use this facility. <br /> Since the policy is de~ermined by either you, the City M~anager or the Library <br />Board or a combination of the three: we are requesting most sincerely that, in light of the fact that the bulk <br />of funds supporting the library is.supplied by tax paying citizens, you will make available the use of this <br />facility to all citizens without regard r~ race, or color."
