Motion o£ Mr. Hinton to refer ~o the City Manager ~o confer eith the State Highway <br />o~ficials, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mo~io~ of Mr. Kirby ~hat ~the City Manager advise the Highway Department of the expense <br />of the acquisition of the proposed route as it now stands, was adopted. <br /> 58-187 - The following letter 'from the Planning commission was read: <br /> 58-187 - "Forwarded herewith is a letter from John A. MacKenzie, ~representing the <br />Portsmouth Lumber Corporation. This letter requests the closing of a portion of Van Buren StreeT. <br /> At a regular meeting on June 5, 1958, the Planning Commission, by unani- <br />mous action, recommends to City COuncil that that portion o~ Van Buren St., which lies northeast of Cuthriell <br />St., approximately 130 ieem in length, be closed." <br /> Motion of Mr. Kirby to place the following ordinance on £irst reading, was adopted: <br /> <br />"Ah~ ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF VAN BUREN STREET" <br /> <br /> holeI <br /> 58-188 - Motion of Mr.Weiseman that the Council be appointed a committee of the w <br />with re£erence to ~ecuring a new City Manager, was adopted.
