<br />(VA 1-6) consisting of 178 low-rent housing units for constructinn as soon as the City Council takes the necessary
<br />action To vacate the streets and alleys within the project area.
<br /> In accordance with Paragraph 5(b) of our Co-operation Agreement, dated March 28, 1956, we
<br />request that Council adopt an ~rdinance at the earliest possible date. We have instructed our attorney,Mt.Clyde W

<br /> 59-31 - The following report from Mrs. Fanny R. Lee, representiag the City of Ports -
<br />mouth on the Board of Trustees, Patrick Henry Hospital, was read:

<br /> "Report on Quarterly Meeting~ Board of Trustees, Patrick Henry Hospital, January 21,195!
<br />
<br /> As your representative, I attended the above-mentioned meeting held at the hospital. I
<br />shall be glad to give a full repor~ if yon desire it. There are several items which I feel should be made knowh to
<br />you, as follows:
<br /> 1. The monthly rate for welfare patients was ~ncreased from $90. to $105. effective
<br /> January l, 1959 by action aT the previous meeting~
<br /> 2. Patrick Henry Hospital reported thai it operated at a loss Of 6~ per day per patient in
<br /> 195T and of 439 per day per patient in 1958.
<br /> 3. During 1958 there were 82 welfare patients and 90 private patients admitted to the
<br /> hospital. At the end of 1958 there were 231 patients in the hospital. At the end of
<br /> 1958 Portsmouth had 20 welfare patients in the hospital and 8 private patients. Of
