That London St. be reverted back to a two-way street and eliminate ali parking <br /> on ~he north side.o~ said street between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 PoM. <br />3. County St. be reverted back to a Two-way street from Crawford St. to Si~h Ave. <br /> and no parking at any time be allowed on the south side and restric:t parking on <br /> the north side between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. <br />4. That WeStern Branch Road be reverted back to a two-way street from Sixth Ave. <br /> to Virginia Ave. <br />5. Ninth Ave. to be made a one-way street south from High St. to Airline Turnpike. <br />6. Irvine Smith and H. E. Weiseman. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Breedlove tha~ the nominations be closed was adopted. <br /> <br /> Vote being taken, Mt.Smith and Mr.' Weiseman were elected to the Board of Trustees of the <br />Perpetual Care Cemetery Fumd for a two year term, beginning January 1st, 1959. <br /> <br /> 59-42 - "The attached ordinance for the renamzng of a portion of Gosport Road is sub- <br />mitted at the request of Mayor Baker. This is for your consideration." <br /> <br />adopted. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Breedlove ~o suspend the rules to hear from any interested persons was <br />~V~rs. WGrth Taylor and M_rs. W.J. Wiseman spoke for the ordinance. <br /> <br />~otion of Mr. Breedlove to place the following ordinance on first reading, was adopted: <br /> <br />"AN OP~DINANCE TO PROVIDE THAT A PORTION OF GOSPORT ROAD WITHIN THE <br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH SltELL BE NASKED NAVAL PLACE" <br /> <br />up and read: <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />59-24 - The following ordinance, placed on first reading at last meeting, was taken <br /> <br />"A/~ ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2-35 OF TttECODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1951, CONCERNING LEGAL HOLIDAYS~ TO DESIGNATE VETERANS DAY AS A <br />LEGAL HOLIDAY FOR CITY EMPLOYEES" <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Smith to amend said ordinance to read as follows, was lost, and by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
