Flick° <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr, Weiseman to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission to approve <br /> on first reading, was adopted, ~ithour dissenting vote; <br /> <br /> 3; The proper~y of George T. McLean Industries, Inc. at garrison and Second Sts. <br /> <br /> Mr. Vincent Parker, representing the McLean Company.spoke for the application. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Ethel F. Lineherry's application. <br /> Mr. Barclay and Mr. Lineberry.spoke for the application. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Weiseman that this application be referred bac~ to the Planning Commission wi~h <br />the request that the Commission consider granting E Transitional zonin~ for this property and that action be <br />taken at the CommiSsinn's next meeting, was adopted, without dissenting vo~e. <br /> <br /> The following reports ~rom the City Manager were read: <br /> <br /> 59-33 - "The Committee appointed by the Mayor ¢omeet with representatives from the com <br />mnnities of South Nor£01k,Virginia Beach, Norfolk Couait~, Princess ~n~e Co~u~y and Nanzem~nd Country, held a mee¢- <br />ingon February 3rd, 1959, concerning the establishmen~ of a Joint Jail Farm System. <br /> It was decided at this meetin~ ~o report back to the governing bodies requesting <br />the appointment of 'two members from each community on a committe~, this committee ~ s~udy the esta~lislnuen~ of a <br />Jail Farm System and report back to the governing bqdies the feasibility of establishing such a system. <br /> It is proper at this time ~or the CounCil to appoint two members to represent <br />the City o~ Portsmouth on this committee. <br /> <br /> On ~otion of Mr. Weiseman, ~r. Baker~andMr. Bartlett were appointed to said committee, <br />without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 59-34 - "The term of ~..~..Nix on the Portsmouth Port CommisSion expired December 31st, <br />1958. This term of o~ico is for a five year period. It is proper ~o elect a member ~o this Commission at <br />this time." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Bartlett to go into the election of a member o~ the Portsmouth Port Com- <br />mission, was adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />
