October 28. 1997 <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey to <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority all right, title and <br />interest which the City of Portsmouth has, or may have, as a result of the <br />closure of portions of Randolph Street and Nashville Avenue, said property <br />to be described as follows, to,wit: BEGINNING at the northwest <br />intersection of Randolph Street (also or formerly known as Roanoke <br />Avenue and Henry Street) and Nashville Avenue; thence along the western <br />right of way line of Nashville Avenue North 5° 21' 32" East a distance of <br />60.27 feet to a point; thence running South 84° 40' 40" East a distance of 60 <br />feet to the eastern right of way Ii ne of Nashville Avenue; thence running <br />along the eastern rightofway line of Nashville South 5° 21'32" West a <br />distance Of 162~88 feet to a point; thence South 87° 15' 41" West a distance <br />of 60.61 feet to the western right of way line of Nashville Avenue; thence <br />running along the western right of way line of Nashville Avenue North 5° <br />21' 32" East a distance of 50.50 feet to the southwest intersection of <br />Randolph street (also or fOrmerly known as Roanoke Avenue and Henry <br />street) and Nashville Avenue; thence running along the southern right-of- <br />way line of Randolph street (also or formerly known as_ Roanoke Avenue <br />and Henry Street)South87° 15'41" West a distance of 221.94 feet to a <br />point; thence running North 16° 49' 44" West a distance of 61.86 feet to the <br />northern t'ightOf wayline Of Randolph Street (alsoor formerly known as <br />Roanoke Avenue and' HenrY Street); thence running along the northern <br />right of way line bfRaridoIphStreet (also or formerly known as Roanoke <br />Avenue and Henry Street) North 87° 15' 41" East a distance of 245.54 feet <br />to the point of beginning." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Clemons, Griffin, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />97 - 290 - Adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter <br /> into such agreements as he may deem to be necessary and <br /> appropriate to the widening of Cedar Lane. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into such <br />agreements as he may deem to be necessary and appropriate for the <br />widening of Cedar Lane. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />The widening of Cedar Lane that is being undertaken by the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation requires the removal and replacement of <br />a number of utility lines along Cedar Lane. <br /> <br />Financial Im_~act: <br /> <br />· None <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to adopt the <br />following resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SUCH <br />INSTRUMENTS AND DEEDS AS MAY BE APPROPRIATE AND NECESSARY <br />TO THE WIDENING OF CEDAR LANE. <br /> <br /> <br />
