Bangel has requested that he be heard, concerning the rejection of hz <br />· bid for the purchase of City-owned property at the southwest corner of Chestnut and County Sts. It is in order <br />that-he be heard from at this time." <br /> <br />Mr. Bang~ spoke for his request. <br /> <br />No action was taken. <br /> <br /> 59~137 '- On motion of Mr. Walker. the rules were suspended to hear from Mr. Jake Jacobsen, <br />who spoke regarding the license tax on laundromats. The following also spoke: Miss Brown, Von Pearsall, <br />R.G. Lowe, Jr., Mr s. Wilgard and Mr. Mitchell. <br /> <br /> The City Manager was requested to bring in more information on this matter and to include <br />same in the notice for a meeting on Thursday, May 28th. - <br /> <br /> 59-138 - "I recommend that the sale of City property between Crawford St., Middle St., <br />Glasgow Bt. and London St. be referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation concerning the sale of this <br />property. This property was ~ 'f0~ier spur track ruhnin~ ih this block which the City acquired in the purchase of <br />the Seaboard Waterfront property.~' <br /> <br /> Notion of Mr. Walker to concur zn the recommendation of the City Manager was adopted, with- <br />out dissenting.vote. <br /> <br /> 59-139 - "I recommend that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for sale a pprtion <br />of the old Jeffrey Wilson property north of North Street and west of Broad Street subject to the following <br />conditions: <br /> 1. To existing easements, restrictions and covenants of record. <br /> 2. To easements for existing drainage ditches. <br /> 3. To successful rezon~ng of the property of 'J' Heavy Industrial pr~or to closing of the sale. <br /> 4. To revert to the City upon the failure of the purchaser ~o construct on the site within <br /> sixty days not less than 15,000 square feet of floor space usable for industrial purposes." <br /> <br /> Motion of 'Mr. Breed~ove to suspend the rules to hear from interested persons, was adopted. <br /> <br />The following spoke: <br /> <br />Rev. This property is in connection <br />wiIh the construction of the Lake Meade Dam." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Bartlett to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager was adopted, <br />without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 59_141 :~':,, -~,' ...... <br /> - I reco~mmend that t. he follQwiug ordinance be placed on first reading.
