The following letter was read:
~In regard ~o rezonlng prbper~y S.W..corner' Nottaway AMe. and Brighton St., from C 2
Family Residential to F Local Business, I want a debtor or dentist office here, or a small store ~e sell souvenirs
and novelties, I have lived atLthis location for twelve ye~frs. In that time nothing ha~ been b hilt up around it
at all, ex~ept a filling station' across the street from me, which is in line with my prpperty. Therefore, I do
not see any future in it as for residential purposes.
Everything nor%heast is all readyzoned for business. My line on the southwest is a
deep ditch, I understand it was the original dividing line between two farms, before they were subdivided. So,
I say, if it is not zoned for business i% is dead property as far as anything else is concerned.
I was not at the meeting when it was b~ought up before the Planning Commissi6n July 2,
because I was sick. I understand that is the reason they did not pass on it, by the same ~oken no one was there
· o oppose it. (Signed) J C Beasley."

59-197,- "Bids were opened on July Sth, 1959 for the Raw. Water Pumping Station in
connection with the construction of the Lake Meade Dam. At the time the bids were opened, C.L. Pincus and Compa~
were the apparent low bidders. The ~ext day Mr. Pincus informed,as that he, had made an error of approximately
$32,000°00 in his bid and wished to be released from his bid.
I am attaching a copy of the letter received from Mr. Pincns concerning
this error. As it is not an unusual procedure to release bidders when they have made a legitimate error in thei~
bid, I recommend that C.L Pincus, Jr., Inc. be released f~om their bid and that the con, tact be awarded to the
Ferguson Corporation, the next low bidder in the amount of $157,492~00."
