$26 October 27th, 1959. of the Commission objectives. I was honored with the appointmentas-Chairman and Mr. Blades accepted Vice Chair-j man position. It was decided at this meeting that the Commission should be ~ncorporated. August 24, 1959, I rim, the Articles of Incorporation of the Dismal Swmmp Industrial Cenal Committee, Inc., and received a charter from the Virginia State Corporation Co~mission. A copy of the Articles of Incorporation is inclosed. You will note~in the. Articles of Incorporation under Section 'F' that these four di - rectors were named to serve and direct the affairs of the Corporation until six of the directors named in Sectio~ 'D' could be selected and appointed by their respected political subdivision. In previous correspondence either with Mr. Blades or myself, your political sub- division desired to co-operate in I this most important survey as proposed by the Dismal Swamp Committee; there- fore, I would like to call a meeting the latter part of this month (October) of the Committee members. If it is possible, I would appreciate it if you would bring before your Board of Supervisors or Council, the matter of appointing a director to represen~ your political sub-division so that they may attend the above mentioned meeting. The Hon. J. Lindsay Almond, Jr?, Governor of the State of Virginia, has appointed th9 Hon. Hu~n Johnston, Norfolk County, Va., as the State of Virginza repmesentative on the Board. I would appreciate it if you would notify me as soon as an appointee for your poli- tical sub-division has been selected."
