November 27, 2001 5 '~ 3 01 - 333 - Non-Agenda Speakers 1. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 363 Middle Street, spoke on supporting small businesses. 2. Marian H. Morris, 1503 Hodges Ferry Road, spoke on ethical conducT. 3. Raleigh Harsley, 2124 Peach Street, spoke on various neighborhood concerns. 4. Ed S. Mizell, 4306 Manchester Lane, spoke on budget cuts for the Fire Department. 5. Richard Cleveland, 1731 Maple Avenue, spoke on NEAT Officers and the Neighborhood Facility. 6. Steve Turner, 1705 Bradford Terrace, spoke on public safety. 7. Alvah Owens, 1604 North Street, spoke on Police and Fire Department finances. 8. Sheri Bailey, 917 Mount Vernon Avenue, spoke on the History Commission. Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded ~3y Mr. Pitts, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711(A)(3) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: consultation with legal counsel about specific legal matters, including but not limited to litigation, as authorized by paragraph 7; and personnel matters and appointments to public positions, as authorized by paragraph 1. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712 of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
