532 <br /> <br /> October 9, 2001 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, October 9, 2001, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />*Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />J. Thomas Bonn 111, Jr., William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager <br />Daniel M. Stuck, City Attorney Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />01 - 282 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br />October 9, 2001 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />01 - 283; The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br />1. Frederick Boulevard Pumping Station <br />2. Introduction to budget <br /> <br />01 - 284 - Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr~ Griffin, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711(A)(3) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or <br />consider the following: <br /> <br /> the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose. There are several <br />subject properties to be discussed. They are located in the Victory Crossing area of <br />Portsmouth, which is near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and 1-264, and also in <br />the City of Suffolk. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section <br />2.2-3712 of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the COuncil Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br /> the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br /> the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> tes prepareC/by} / <br />Victor H.
