certain mat~ers which created Tension in the community, be commended for the fine way in which they handled the <br />situation, was adopted, without dissenting vete. <br /> <br /> $0-65 ~ Mr. Walker spoke re~arding a Bill.in thelLe~islature which provides compensation <br />police O££icers for court attendance while off duty. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Bartlett that a niEht letter be sent To our Representatives in the Legisla- <br />ture and Senate, stating that .~inasmueh as we are unable ce measure the £inancial costs and effect of the Bill <br />which ~rov±des compensation for court attendance by police o£ficers while of~ duty, the Council of the City of <br />~ortsmouth requests that the leEislation be permissive rather than m~nd atery' and to ~tate £urther tha~ the <br />City Council will communicate with the Representatives later, when mere in£ormation is available, was adopted, <br />without dissentin~ vote. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned~ . <br /> <br />Approved. - <br /> <br /> President. <br /> <br />City -Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
