March 13, 2001 '- 38 ! <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, March 13, 2001, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr., City Manager Daniel M. Stuck, CitY Attorney Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />01 - 80 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council <br />Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2001 for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />01 - 81 - The follOwing items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. CIP Presentation <br />2. City Hall Fa(;ade Replacement <br />3. Performing Arts Center - Briefing <br /> <br />01 - 82 - Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss <br />or consider the following: <br /> <br /> FirSt, the disposition of publiclY held real Property as authoriZed and more <br />fully set forth in paragraph 3, with the subject Properties being in the downtown area of <br />the City and also in the City of Suffolk; and <br /> <br /> - second, consultation with legal counsel regarding specific legal matters <br />requiring the provision of legal advice by such counsel, as authorized by paragraph 7. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. PiEs, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepare( <br />Victor H.
