<br /> of the community. They reduce consume~ buying power .below the amou~ needed to keep America at work.
<br /> Gentlemen, I could go on and on Eiving you facts, figures and reasons why this
<br />-legislation should be passed but I will close with this quotation from President George Meaney of the A.F.L.-
<br /> C.I.O. "You can ~ake a fellow earnin~ $4~00 an hour and a fellow earning $1.00 an hour and you can add them up
<br /> and divide by Two, and you come up with an average of $2.50 an hour. That's a s~atistic. But hidden behind that
<br /> statistic is the truth - that one fellow is earning a living and the other fellow is noT."
