I would like to ask why it is that Norfolk ~s <br />a ~ransportation system with new air-conditioned buses that has kept in operation cna seventeen cen~ fare and the <br />Portsmouth system has been charging ~wenty cents and now is aski~ ~o be allowed no charge ~en~y five cents? <br />~o is goi~ to pay fifty cents to go do~own to shop or for any other purpose that is not absolutely necessary? <br />I certainly would no~. And I k~ow.Qf quite a few ~ple who have ~stopped riding the bus to work and are riding <br />with others ~n cars instead of paying t~ 'high bus fare. H~w c~ they expe6~people to patronize the bus company <br />when they are doing everything they can to drive them ~o other means of transportation? They are hurting the~ <br />selves as well as do~o~ Portsmouth. It is time for someone ~0 do someth%ng about it and I urge you gentlemen <br />~o use your influence in getting better and more reasonable transportatio~ ibr~P6r~smouth. Competition is good <br />and I sincerely urge you ~o do all %on can ~o get the Co~uni~y Bus Company ~o operate in Portsmouth.
