Underwood, Secretary of Hedges Manor Civic League, Inc. was read: "It is respectfullyrequested that the Portsmouth City,Council select Mr. Guy M, Gaskill from the Hedges Ferry. sectinn of the City as a representative on the Portsmouth School Board to fill the vacancy created by theresignationef Mr. Irvin C. Blanchard from our section. Mr. Gaskill is currently sera ing as president of our Civic League for the second term of office. He has been very active in all civic activi- ties and participated in the Parent Teachers Association of the Hedges.Manor School, serving as Chairman of the Recreation Committee for the past year'. He zs well known for his support and active-participation in the ports - mouth District of BnySeouts, having served as a member of the organization and exzension committee. Re is a member of the Auxiliary Potiee of the City,of Portsmouth willing snd capable of helping the Cityin any wsy pos- sible. Mr. Gaskill has resided in the City of Portsmouth or its subUrbs for the past nine- teen years. He is Presently employed in aresponsible position as a Protective Coatings Technologist in the Chem- ical Branch of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He attended the Norfolk Business College and the College.of William and Mary of Norfotk~ Ma.
