cerning a drainage ditch in Truxton Place. This is an open ditch ru~ning 'at the rear o~ private property on Trux-
ton Place and through private p~op?r~y on Virginia Road.
Previaus to this preperty being, annexed, Norfolk County had obtained an
easement to properly pipe the ditch. It will cost $1,450.00 for 36 inch pipe and approximately $2,820.00 to
install.
It is the .policy of the City when.lxi~e ia installed on private property
that the property owner purchase the pipe and the City install the same. The Director of Public Works advises
me that he informed the property owners involved that if they would purchase 24 inch pipe which is the normal
size required, that the City would replace this wi th .36 inch pipe and the City would install the pipe. The cost
of the 24 inc~ pipe would be $650,00."
60~273,- The,following letter from the 'West<Side Civic League was read:

Th~ West ~S~de ClVlC League~ went on record as ~pposed to the suggestion made by Mayor
Smith that the City Council meetings be held during the daytime in lieu of night sessions as has been-the practic~
for year. To change the regular CiSy Coune, it meetings,:fr/om~daytime ~meetings-would tend to decrease the attendanc~
and create an_ uninformed citizenry.
Daytime meetings would not be fair to the present of future Councilmen who-find it nec-
essary To work dusting the day for a livelihood.
