September 12th, 1961 On bus lines known as 1 and 2, headways will be~ very thirty minutes from 5:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., from 7:00 P.M. to 12:00 midnight every hour, and every hour on Sundays and holidays. On bus lines known as 3.and 3-A , headways will be every thirty minutes from 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., from 7:00 P.M. to 12:30 A.M., every hour, smd every hour on Sundays and holidays. On bus lines known as 4, headways will be every thirty minutes from 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., every hour from 7:00 P.M. to 12:30 A.M., and every hour on Sundays and holidays. On bus lines known as 5 and 5-2, headways will be every twenty minutes from 5:00 A.M. to 9:00 P~.M., every thirty minutes from 9:00 P.M. to 12:30 A.M., and every thirty minutes on Sundays and holidays. On bus line known as 5-B headways will be every twenty minutes from 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M., every ten minutes from 7:10 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., from 9:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., every twenty min ~tes,.from 4:10 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. every ten minutes, from 6:10 P.M. to 12:30 A.M. every thirty minutes, amd every thirty minutes on Sundays amd holidays. On bus line known as 9, headways will be every forty minutes from 5:30 A.M. to 9:15 P.M., with no service on Sundays o~ holidays. On bus lines known as 10 and 10-A, headways will be every thirty minutes from 5:00 A.M. to 7:30 P.M., from 7:30 P.M. to 12:30 A.M. every hour, and every hour on Sundays and holidays. On bus line known as 11, headways will be every twenty-five minutes from 5:15 A.M. to 9:15 P.M., every hour from 9:15 P.M.~to 12:15 A.M., and every fifty minutes on Sundays and holidays. On bus line known as 12, headways will be every sixty minutes from 5:30 A.M. to 7:00 A.M., from 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 A.M., every thirty minutes, from 9:30 A.M. to 2:15 P.M. every seventy minutes, from 2:30 P.M. to 6:20 P.M. every thirty five minutes, from 7:00 P.M. to 11:45 P.M. and on Sundays and holidays every seventy minutes. On bus line know as 16, headways will be every twenty-five minutes from 5:15 A.M. to 7:00 P.M,, and from 7:00 P.M. to 12:25 A.M., and on Sundays and holidays every sixty minutes. On bus line known as 17, headways will be every twenty minutes from 5:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., every forty minutes from 9:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. every twenty minutes, from 6:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M. eyery forty minutes: from 9:00 P.M. to 12:45 A.M. every sixty minutes, and every sixty minutes on Sundays and holidays. 61-240 - An appropriation of ~40,000.00 from Capital Improvement Fund, for preliminary work on the incinerator, approved on first reading at last meeting, was taken up. On motion of Mr. Weiseman, an appropriation of $40,000.00 from Capital Improvement Fund, for said purpose, was made, and by the following vote: Ayes: Smith, Atkinson, Barnes, Dillon, Leery, Walker, Weiseman Nays: None 61-241 - An appropriation of $33,867.00 from Capital Improvement Fund for demolition of wasthe warehouSetaken up. and pilings ad~acentof Mr tODillon,the Municip~I$33, B~lding~ ap~roVedp.~ on firSta~eading at lastntmeeting,Fu wa'laid on motio 7 was ppr ~iated from C itat Improveme nd for purpose, and by~ the followimg vote: Ayes: Smith, Atkinson, Barnes, Dillon, Leery, Walker, Weiseman Nays: None NEW BUSINESS 61-260 - The following letter from the West Side Civic League was read: "At the regular meeting of this League= it was voted to oppose renewing any of the present installed concrete street signs. It wzs agreed by our members that these street signs stand out and can be seen blocks away; and the street name can be read at a greater distance than street mames seven feet high. If it is a sign that reflects at night that is desired, there is plenty of material on the m~rket that can be'purchased and applied on the present concrete post signs thereby saving the City the expense of replacing the present signs ~with pipe type signs/ which are subject to rust and to become bent and unsightly in a few years. We in West Side are proud of the present street signs, that are painbed white and black. They add beauty to any neighborhood. This is one item we would oppose even if the City had a surplus of funds, which it does mot, according to all reports and discussions that took place during the 1961-62 budget hearing.
