At a regular meetin§ of the City Council, held on September 27th, 1961, there were present: H. E. Weiseman: C.S. Atkinson, Jack P. Bar,es, John L. Dillon, W.T. Leafy, George R. Walker: A.P. Johnson,Jr.~ City Mann§er and J.S. Livesay~Jr.~ City Attorney. The mme~ing was opened with prayer by Mr. Walker. Minutes of regular meeting of September 12th, 1961 were read and approved. 61-273 - The following public hearin§ on zoning changes was held: 1-61 - Petition of Leo and Irene Harreli. The following people spoke for ~he application: R S McLellon: Attorney, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Harrell~ Mrs. Lola Denkins, Mrs. Geraldine Goods Motion of Mr. Barnes to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission to deny the request was adopte~ without dissenting vote. Pz~ 2-61 - Petition of Gulf Oil Corporation. W.L. Young of 501 Cornick Road, spoke for the application. Motion of Mr. Barnes to concur in ~he recommendation of the Planning Commission to approve the request, was adopted~ without dissentin§ vote. 3-61 - Petition of B.C. Daniels.~ No one spoke on this Motion of Mr. Walker the reguest: was adopted, without dissenting application. ~o concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission to deny vote. ,~ 4-61 Petition of C. R. Crawford. No one spoke on this application. Motion of Mr. Leary no concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission to approve for Residential 60-A zoning district instead of Commercial 2 was adopted, without dissenting vo~e. 6-61 - Petition of Charlie and Frances Mason . Richard J. Davis, attorney, spoke for the application. Motion of Mr. Atkinson to refer to a conference for furthJ~ study. Motion of Mr. Walker to table until next meeting was lost and by the following vote: Ayes: Walker, Dillon Nays: Atkinson, Barnes, Leafy, Weiseman Vote being taken on Mr. Atkinson's motion, same was adopted and by the following vote: Ayes: Atkinson, Barnes, Leafy, Weiseman Nays: Walker, Dillon 8-61 - Petition of Florence B. Maupin. No one spoke on this application. Motion of Mr. Dillon to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Cormnission to deny the request~ was adopted, without dissenting vote. 9-61 - Petition of Mark Construction Corporation. Frank Hawkins and George Minor, Jr., attorney, spoke, asking that action be deferred. Motion of Mr. Barnes to table was adopted, without dissenting vote. ~10-61 - Petition of Construction Associates and Mrs. Jean M Davis. Frank Hawkins spoke for the applicatioh. Motion of Mr. Dillon to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Corm~ission to extend Residential 60 to include this area was adopted, without dissenting vote~ 11-61 - Petition of George T. McLean. Frank Hawkins spoke asking that action be deferred. Motion of Mr. Barnes to table was adopted, without dissenting vote. 12-61 - Petition of George C Norris, agent for Oscar C and Lenora Jones, Lettie and Cal- vin Helsel and Harold and Marian Parker.
