-- NEW BUSINESS --

61-297 - The following letter fromM_rs. Viola Jones, 522 Virginia Avenue, was read:

"I am writing to see if something can not be done toward getting some bus service in
this community. It seems that we in this particular section were not considered at all. We don't expect a bus
beyond the tunnel construction area, which was served by the old bus company, but we do expect a bus nearby where
in we can report to work. That railroad track from Mt. Vernon Ave. is entirely too far and too dangerous at dark
to walk. And it is too far to walk half the distance of Port Norfolk through Chautauqua Ave. no overtake a bus.
I have written Mr. Barnes and others have called. I hear that he promises something
in a month. In the meantime we still have to report to work somehow; therefore I am asking your aid in trying to
work out some means of transportation for all and not just a few."
