Knight was elected a member of the Portsmouth Port Commission for a period of four years, beginning January 1st, 1962. NEW BUSINESS - 61-353 The ~following communication f~m D. W. Duncan was read: "I regret that I will not be able to serve as a menf0er of the Board of the Public 'Library. My responsibilities here have increased no the point where I feel that I must give up some of my other activities~ I wish the City Council and the Board every success in the utilization of the new building to pro - vide expanded library service for the people of Portsmouth." Turtle, Business Representa- tive of Portsmouth City Employees Local Union 733 was read: "Please be advised ,that I did get to the ~last Co~ncil'meeting at 8:30 and at this time the meeting was over. In view of the abeve, it is requested that I~be heard on the ordinance in question at the conference to be held December 19th, 1961."
