A. Stuart Bol~ing Company, Inc. 173,949.25
R. L. Whitfield ~nd Company, Incorporated 205,032.60
A. G. Pinkston Company being the low bidder, I recommend that the contrac~ be
awarded to this firm. It is to be noted that this contract price and al~o the contract price for curb and guttering
exceeds the current appropriation for storm drains and curbs and guzters under the Capital Improvement program. It
will be necessary to either delete 'part of this program from the contract or carry s portion forward into the next
Ames and Webb, Incorporated 17.9,198.00
Norfolk, Virginia
As the bid submitted by the Birsch Construction Corporation was the lowes~ and
being in order, I recommend that the contract be awarded to this firm. As the appropriation under the Capital
Improvement program includes the curbs and guttering, this contract also affects this appropriation and would be
necessary to extend this into the nex~ fiscal year appropriation. I recommend that this be done.

Motion of Mr. Leafy to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager was adopted, with-

out dissenting vote.
