<br /> "I move that the ordinanbe be amended by changing the 1962-63 estimate of revenue
<br />from Real Estate Tax~ Item 1 Page 1, from $3~675,000.00 to $3,930,000.00.
<br />
<br /> I Move that the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 estimate of revenue
<br />from Personal Property tax, Item 2 Page 1, from $655,000.00 to $670,000.00.
<br />
<br /> I move that the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 estimate of revenue
<br />from Amusement tax, Item 5 Page 1, from $72,000.00 to $70,000.00.
<br />
<br /> I move that the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 estimate of revenue
<br />from Cigarette tax, Item 7 Page 1, from $224,000.00 to $215,000.00.
<br />
<br /> I move that the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 estimate of revenue
<br />from Engineering fees, Page 1, Item 17~ from $24,000.00 to $16,000.00.
<br />
<br /> I move that the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 estimate of revenue
<br />from Share of Cost of Hospitalization, Page 2, Item 17, from $28,000.00 to $33,000.00.
<br />
<br /> I move that the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 estimate of revenue
<br />from Fixed Charges, Water Department, Page 4, Item 1, from $664,000.00 to $919,500.00 and the Water Fund be
<br />adjusted to conform.

<br /> I move that

<br />the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 estimate of revenue
<br />Item 2, from $25,000.00 To $85,000.00 and the Sewage Disposal Fund

<br /> I move that the position of Director of Public Safety and Personal Officer be
<br />established to head the Department of Public Safety with a salary (starting) of $10,500.00 and that the position
<br />of Deputy ~hief be established in the Police Department au a starting salary of $6,120.00, and that the number
<br />of Captains be reduced from 9 to 8 and the total of captains salary appropriation be reduced from $56,700 ~o
<br />$50,400.00 and the subtotal and department totals be adjusted accordingly.
<br />
<br /> I move that the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 appropriation for
<br />Telephone Service from a total of $31,104.00 to $34,000.00 and that the Manager apply this $3,000.00 ~ncrease
<br />to the sub-account which habitually is in the red.
<br />
<br /> I move that the ordinance be amended by changing the 1962-63 appropriation in
<br />the Non-Operating Expense section of the Water Fund, Page 45 to delete the first 420 item and the $24,012.00
<br />appropriatiom and to increase the appropriation of the second 420 item To $33~000.00.
<br />
<br /> I move that Section 2 (c) of the ordinance be amended by adding the following
<br />sentence "The Manager shall report such transfers of funds in the monthly Finance Report following the transfer
<br />zn a separate column titled 'Transfers' and that s plus and minus code be used to indicate from and to which
<br />account the funds were transferred."
<br />
<br /> I move that Section 2 (d) which sta~es 'The Manager is hereby authorized at any
<br />time during the fiscal year to effect any consolidation of offices, or make other changes he may deem to be in
<br />the interest of the City, provided there is no increase in expenses' from the ordinance."

<br /> 62-146a - On motion of Mr. Knight, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without
<br />dissenting vote:

<br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $2~009,867.25 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL
<br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE PURPOSES OF BOND RETIREMENT, INTEREST AND HANDLING
<br />CHARGES, MUSEUM, NORFOLK COUNTY LITERARY FUND PAYMENTS, AND DRAINAGE -
<br />CURBS AND GUTTERS.
<br />
<br /> 62-147 - "It is recommended that the City Council elect an assistant City Attorney
<br />as provided in the 1962-63 budge~. This appointment to be effective August 1, 1962."
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Dillon To concur in the recommendation of the City Manager and to elect
<br />Carroll O Ferrell Assistant City Attorney was adopted, and by.the following vote:
<br />
<br />Ayes: Smith, Dillon, Knight, Leafy
<br />Nays: Walker
<br />
<br /> 62-148 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend that it be placed on firs~
<br />reading. This ordinance appropriates funds from the Capital Fund for the purchase of ten mobile classrooms.
<br />
<br /> This has been requested by the School Board to eliminate classroom shortages
<br />for the next school term. Also, they will have the ability to move these rooms if and when any population
<br />shifts create any temporary crowding conditions in other schools."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Leafy, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without
