"It is with regret that I must ask you to accept my resignation from the City Recreation <br />Commission, since [ have been informed that as of June 2i, 1962, we will be assigned To a mew pes~ora~e in <br />Arlington, Va. and consequently wii1 be moving from Portsmouth on Thursday, June 21. It has been ~ distinct <br />privilege for me To be associated with the fine men on th~s commission and To work with our Recreation <br />Depar~men~ leaders as well as with our City Manager and other members of the City Counci2. I am sure <br />Mr. Aubrey Johnson will call the group ~ogether whe~ the Council has appointed someone in my place, so they <br />may elect a new chairman and proceed with this ~mpor~an~ work which has been assigned To them.
