<br />On motion of Mr. Dillon the ordinance was adopted and by the following vote:

<br />63-149 - The following ordinance, approved on first rending at last meeting, was taken up and read:
<br />
<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $13,000.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE OPERATION OF THE
<br />PORTSMOUTH YOUTH CONSERVATION CORPS"

<br />63-162 - The following communication from the Superintendent of Schools was read:
<br />"I am hereby notifying you of the expiration Of the terms of 6~fice of the following members of
<br />
<br />the School Board, their terms expiring July 1, 1963.
<br /> First District - Mr. John E. Adams, Jr.
<br /> Second District - Dr. M. A. Kise
<br /> Third District - Mr. Leslie L. Fry, Jr."
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes to go into the election of three members
<br />without dissenting vote.
<br />
<br />the School Board was adopted,
<br />
<br /> Mr. Dillon nominated John E. Adams from First 'District to succeed himself as a member of the
<br />School Board, for a period of three years beginning July 1st, 1963.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes, nominations were closed.
<br />
<br /> Vote being tnken, Mr. Adams was unanimously elected to the School Board.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Eastes nominated Dr. M. A. Kise from Second District to succeed himself as a member of the
<br />School Board, for e period of three years, beginning July 1st, 1963.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Leary, nominations were closed.
<br />
<br /> Vote being taken, Dr. Kise was unanimously elected to the School Board.
<br />
<br /> Mr, Bnrnes nominated Leslie L. Fry, Jr., from Third District, to succeed himself ss a member of the
<br />School Board, for a period of three years, beginning July 1st, 1963.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Eastes, nomina.tions were closed.
<br />
<br /> Vote bein~ taken, Mr. Fry was unanimousl~ elected ko the School Board.

<br /> 63-163 - The following communication from the City Treasurer was read:
<br /> "Herewith is a list of delinqnemt Personal Property Taxes for the year 1962 to be furnished you
<br />as required by the City Ordiaance."
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Atkinson to receive as information the communication, was adopted, without dissenting
<br />
<br /> 63-164 - ~eport on audit of the City Treasurer's accounts by the Auditor of Public Accounts of the
<br />Commonwealth of Virginia, was presented, and on motion of Mr. Barnes, received as informntion.
