<br /> "WHEREAS, The application of P. H. Boyette, Jr., and Boyette-Madden Oil Company, Incorporated
<br />to vacate, close, and discontinue Garfield Street between County Road and the property of the City o3 Porismouth
<br />on which Woodrow Wilson High School is located, has been referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission ~or
<br />investigation and report, and said Commission has recommended the closing of the said stree~ and it appearing
<br />that notice of the appl%cation and request for the appointment of,viewers was duly posted on the first day of the
<br />term of court of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, held on the 22nd day of July, 1963, on
<br />the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City or'Portsmouth, on the bulletin~,board of the Court of Hustings
<br />for the City of Portsmouth and on a telephone pole at the southeast corner of Pacific Aven~e and Commerce Street
<br />in 'the City of Portsmouth, at least five days prior to this meeting:
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that:
<br />R. A. Craig, Jr., Herbert Willard, L. T. Carrell, RobePt Vick, and J.-C. Barber be appointed viewers to view said
<br />street and report to this Council in writing whether, in their opinion, any, and if any, what inconvenience would
<br />resfllt from discontinuing the aforementioned portion of North Street."

<br /> 63-205 - "As provided in the new Building Code recently adopted by the City Council, it is
<br />necessary to appoint a Board of Adjustments and ~ppeals to consider rulings by the Build~in~ Official.
<br /> It is in order for the Council to elect these members at this time; one to be an architect,
<br />~ne an engineer and three members associated with the building trade."
