These two streets hav~ been physically <br />co~nected and now the street should be given one name. <br /> There are 19 residents on Johnson Avenue and 6 on Sherwood Drive. <br /> Attached hereto is a copy of a. petition presented fro~ the residents on Sherwood drive requesting <br />that their street Rame not be changed. About a year ago all the residents on Johnson Avenue were required to <br />change their street numbers." <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Dillon, the following ordinance was approved on first reading: <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF SHERWOOD DRIVE TO JOHNSdNAVENUE" <br /> <br /> 63-218 - "I submit the attached ordinances and recommend that they be placed on first reading. <br /> These ordinances a~thorize the city to proceed with condemnation proceedings to acquire land for the <br />widening of Route 337 (Portsmouth'Boulevard),- ' ~ .... <br /> At the present time, there remain eight parcels for which' the right-of-way has no~ been acquired. <br />Five of these parcels are owned principally by National Oil Companies. One parcet cannot .be 'settled because of <br />the incapacity of one of the parties in interest who is a patient at Eastern'State ~ospital; however, a verbal <br />agreement on the amount:of the compensation has been reached with the principal'owner~of the property. <br /> The remaining rights-ofwway.have~not been acquired because we are unable zo rgach an agreement with <br />the owners.
