<br />GENEPJLL CAPITAL I~ROVE~NT PUND FOR THE PURPOSE
<br />OF CONSTRUCTING S~NIT;~RY SEWERS IN PARK

<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes to award the contract to A. Stuart Bolling Co., Inc., the lowest
<br />bidder for $161,650.90, was adopted, without dissenting vote.
<br />
<br /> 65-260 - "I suhm~t..,tHe attached ordinance and recommend that it be placed on first
<br />reading. This appropriates $40,000 from the Sewage Disposal Fund to cover the cost of engineering fees
<br />and preliminary expenses in connection with the expansion of the Sewage Treatment Plant.

<br /> On motion of Mr. Leafy, the following ordinance was approved on first reading,

<br />SEWAGE DISPOSAL FUND FOR ENGINEERING FEES AND
<br />PRELIMINARY EXPENSEg IM CONNECTION WITN THE EXPANSION
<br />OF THE SEWAGE TREATMP~NT PLANT"

<br /> 65-261 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend that it be placed on first
<br />reading. This repeals Section 18-94 of the City Code pertaining to Dinwiddie Street being one-way.
<br />
<br /> The City's Traffic Engineer has recommended that this be a two-way street,
<br />as traffic volumes no longer require it to be O~e-way."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Dillon, the following ordinance was approved on first reading,
<br />without dissenting vote:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTION 18-94 OF THE CODE
<br />OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, TO b~KE
<br />DINWIDDIE STREET BETWEEN NORTH STREET AND BART
<br />STREET A ~O-WAY STREET"
<br />
<br /> 65.262- "I submit the attached agreements between the Virginia Electric and Power
<br />Company and the Cityc. of Portsmouth, and recommend that the proper City Officials be authorized to sign.
<br />
<br /> This is ~r-an easement across property owned by the Portsmouth WaterDepartment
<br />on Route 58, where it crosses Speight's Run in SuffOlk.
<br />
<br /> The Virginia ElecZric and Power company desires to remove some existing poles
<br />and wires on this easement."
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Johnson to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager that the
<br />proper City Officials be authorized to sign the agreements, was. adopted, without dissenting vote.
<br />
<br /> 65-265 - "I submit the attached agreement betweenthe Virginia State Highway Department
<br />and the City of Portsmouth, and recommend that the proper City Officials be authorized to ~g~. %
