388 May 26. 1998 <br /> <br /> At.a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, May 26, 1998, <br />there were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. <br />Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, James T. Martin, P. Ward Robinett, J. Thomas <br />Benn Ill, Deputy City Manager Johnna R. Lee, City Attorney G. Timothy <br />Oksman. <br /> <br />98-125 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the <br />City Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 6:00 p.m., <br />Tuesday, May 26, 1998, for the purpose of an Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Benn, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of <br />Virginia, for discussion or consideration of the following: <br /> <br />The condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public <br />purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted <br />by Subsection (A)(3), said property being in the downtown and <br />Churchland areas of the City; and <br /> <br />A prospective business or industry or expansion of an existing <br />business or industry where no previous announcement has been <br />of same in the community, as permitted by Subsection (A)(5). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to <br />Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the <br />Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive <br />Session of the City Council: <br /> <br />Only publi~ business matters lawfully exempted from open <br />meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business .matters as were: identified in the <br />motion-by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br />Debbie K.
