January 11, 1966 <br /> <br />On motion of Mr, Bastes, referred to the City Attorney. <br /> <br />66-15 - The following letter from the Planning Director was read: <br /> <br /> "At its regularmonthly meeting on January 4, 1966, the City <br />Planning Commission publicly heard and resolved to recommend that a use permit be granted Mrs. Odessa <br />Brodie to operate a nursing home for the aged at 922 Lincoln Street, pursuant to Section 4-5 <br />Page 25 of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> During the public hearing, a site plan was submitted; and <br />the Commission bases its recommendation upon this document." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Johnson, referred to the City Clerk for <br />advertising for public hearing on February' 8, 1966. <br /> <br />66-16 - The following letter from the Planning Director was read: <br /> <br /> "At its regular monthly meeting on January 4, 1966, the City <br />Planning Commission resolved to recommend approval as ~o character, location and extent of the proposed <br />site for a new elementary school on Greenwood Drive in Cavalier Manor. <br /> This proposal has been made by the Portsmouth School Board <br />and is more fully described ena plat titled "T-5411, November 29, 1965, Baldwin and Gregg, Civil Engineers <br />and Surveyors, Norfolk, Virginia." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Bastes, to receive as information ~as adopted, <br /> without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> - i ~ ~._ ~ 66-17 - Letter from the City Clerk notifying the Council of the <br />?~.--~>~xpiration of terms of office of H. M. Myers, Jr., Duff G. Porter, Sr. and ~i$~ian H. Siegle, on the <br /> Coast Guard Lightship Museum Board, was read. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr, Knight to go into the election of three members to the <br />Coast Guard Lightship ~gaseum Board was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Barnes nominated Mr. Myers, Mr. Porter, and Mr. Siegle for a term <br />of three years, expiring January $1, 1969. <br /> <br />~{otion of Mr, Knight to close nominations was adopted. <br /> <br /> Vote being taken, H. M. ~ers, Jr., Duff G. Porter, Sr. and Christian H. <br />Siegle were elected to the Coast Guard Lightship Museum Board for the term indicated. <br /> <br /> 66-18 - Motion of Mr. Dillon to go into the election of two trustees <br />to Patrick Henry Hospital, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bastes nominated Mrs. A. Stuart Bolling aBd Jack P. Barnes.~~' <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Knight, nominations were closed. <br /> <br /> Vote being taken, Mrs. Bolling and Mr. Barnes were unanimously elected <br />to the Patrick Henry Hospital Board for the term indicated. <br /> <br /> 66-19 - Motion of Mr. Johnson that the City Manager have the Plumbing Code <br />revised and that it be submitted to Council at the next regular meeting, for study, ff comoleted by that <br />date, was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />Approved - <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
