Vernon Avenue approximately 115 feet; thence west 60 feet to a rear lot line: thence north <br />30 feet; thence east 50 feet; thence north approximately 80 feet to Glasgow Street; thence east 29.6 <br />feet to the point of origin; from Residential R-60 to Commercial C-1. After ascertaining that the <br />applicant could upon rezoning reinstitute a commercial use in this modified structure, the Planning <br />Commission resolved to recommend approval of Commercial C-1 for the entire parcel of land now under <br />control of the petitioner. <br /> Z-65-27 Petition of Attorney Jefferson B. Brown to rezone property <br />described as follows: Beginning at the~est corner of the intersection of Portsmouth Boulevard <br />and Royal Street; thence south along Royal Street approximately 50 feet; thence west 120 feet; thence <br />north approximately 50 feet to Portsmouth Boulevard; thence east 120 feet to the point of origin. Beginning at the~east corner of Elm Avenue and Portsmouth Boulevard: thence <br />north along the eastern right-of-way line of Elm Avenue ~pproximately 25 feet; thence east approximately <br />105 feet to a rear property line; thence south approximately 50 feet to the northern right-ofk~ay line of <br />Portsmouth Boulevard; thence northwest along said right-of-way line approximately 110 feet to the point of <br />origin; from Residential R-75 to Commercial C-2. After having reviewed this situation as a body at a <br />special field trip meeting, the Planning Commission resolved that the current operation situated on this <br />tiny plof of ground could not conform to any commercial zoning standards and therefore recommended denial <br />of this application." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hastes to refer to the City Clerk for advertising <br />for public hearing on March 8, 1966, was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br />66-48 - The following communication from the Planning Director was read: <br /> <br /> "At its regular monthly meeting on February 1, 1966~ the City <br />Planning Commission resolved ltn~nimously to recommend closure of County Street between Crawford Street <br />and Water Street in connection with pending Community Civic Center"construction. <br /> The Commission notes its awareness of the existence of utility lines <br />in the bed of this particular street segment but feels certain that municipal architectural consultants <br />and our municipal officials specifically concerned with utilities are working together under direction <br />of the City Manager to resolve satisfactorily all such issues." <br /> <br />without dissenting vote. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Leafy to refer to the City Attorney was adopted, <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />Approved <br /> <br />P~esident <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
