June9-1998~ 393 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City COuncil on Tuesday, June 9, 19987 there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., <br />*Cameron C. Pitts, James T, Martin, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., *J. Thomas Benn III, City <br />Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />98-133 The fOllowing call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City COuncil to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June <br />9, 1998, for the purpose of a Public WOrk Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />98-134 The following item waS discussed in Public Work Sess on <br /> <br />1. Hoffler's Creek- Update <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, for discussion or <br />consideration of the following: . . <br /> <br />t. Appointments by Council to committees, boards, or commissions, ~as <br /> permitted by SubSectiOn (A)(1). <br /> <br />The condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public purpose, or <br />the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3), <br />said property being in the Prentis Park and Prentis Place areas of the City; <br />and <br /> <br />3. Briefings by staff pertaining to actual or probable litigation, as permitted by <br /> Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and ,seconded by Mr. Clemons, pursuant to Section 2,1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2, Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br /> which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or <br /> considered in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br />Debbie K.
