Irvine Smith, Jack P, Barnes, George D. Hastes, Burrell R. Johnson, Iaaac W. King, <br /> L. L. Knight, W. T. Leafy, A. P. Johnson, Jr., City Manager, M. A. Kerb, Jr., City Attorney, <br /> and R. D. Ottavio, City Auditor. <br /> <br /> meeting was opened with prayer by Rev. George Eason, pastor, Park View Methodist Church. <br /> <br />67-38 - Public hearing on the following rezening petition was held: Z 67-2 - Petition of Gordofi Marsh. <br /> <br />~r. Marsh spoke for the application. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Leafy to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission and to place the <br />following ordinance on first reading was adopted,~ithout dissenting vote: <br /> <br />"ZONING ~\~END~NT ORDINANCE Z 67-2" <br /> <br /> The following reports from the City Manager were read: <br /> 67-S8 - "I submit the attached iordinance and recommend that-it be olaced on first reading. <br /> This appropriates $8,3100 for the purchase of property in ~inners Point in connection <br />with the development of the marine terminlal. <br /> This is for property at t8S Carolina Avenue and 122 Seaboard Avenue." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Knight, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, without dissenting <br />vote: <br /> "AN 0RDINANCH TO APPROPRIATH $8~00.00 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE <br />PURc~&SE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT ~85 CAROLINA AVENUE AND 122 SEABOARD AVENUE IN PINNERS POINT" <br /> <br /> 67-59 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend that it be placed on first re~d~ng. <br /> This amends Section 10-89 of the City Code pertaining ~o the required appropriation <br />of $250,000 in the Capital Budget, This amendment would Allow sanitary sewers to be constructed from <br />this fund as well as storm sewers and curbs and gutters." <br /> <br /> The following letter from the West Side Civic League was read: <br /> "A news article in the Virginian-Pilot - Ledger Star dated March 12, 1967, stated that <br />the City Council will consider amending the ordinance that earmarks $250,000 annually for curb, gutter <br />anddrainage work. <br /> <br /> <br />
